Mercedes-Benz is oneof the best manufacturers of luxury cars. The company was founded in 1926 and
is based out of Stuttgart, Germany. In 1980 they were awarded their first title
as “World’s fastest production car” for their car model, the GLK 200 AMG.

What is AMG?
AMG stands forAcceleration Management Group. This group of engineers work under the
supervision of Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard who creates and oversees the performance
of the AMG cars. He is assisted by four Vice Presidents; Steve Mertens, Joachim
Lang, Jurgen Otto and Hubertus Kandi. Their job is to develop the vehicles
engine while being able to get a strong horsepower output. There are two main
components which play a role in deciding how powerful the engine will be. These
are the fuel, and the compression ratio. The higher the compression ratio, the
more power an engine produces. The fuel and compression ratios are controlled
by software which helps the engineer adjust the gas flow rate depending on the
amount of load placed upon the engine. A typical AMG vehicle may have a
turbocharger which further increases the boost pressure and the amount of air
allowed into the combustion chamber. As mentioned above, the engine is then
tuned to make sure it produces the maximum amount of power while still making
sure the engine does not overheat.
Engine Specs
Mercedes Benz GLC 63 AMG that generates amassive 605 hp at 6500 rpm and 578 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm. This puts the
engine as the second strongest engine produced in a muscle car. Only the Ford
Shelby GT 350 is stronger than this. The engine is mated with a seven speed
automatic transmission which helps improve the acceleration time. The engine is
connected to the front wheels via an independent rear suspension. The tires on
this vehicle weigh 285 pounds each and feature Michelin Pilot Super Sport. This
type of tire is known for having excellent traction, handling and cornering
capabilities.
Price
This vehicle retailsfor $84,000 plus tax and fees. A fully loaded version of the vehicle costs
almost twice as much at about $147,000. While owning this vehicle is expensive,
it also comes with many features such as navigation system, adaptive cruise
control, collision warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rain
sensing wipers, and many others. If you ever need to replace parts on this
vehicle, you will find that it is quite affordable. Parts are priced around
$20-$40 each and many parts are interchangeable between different models.
